News (03.09.2010) : Group Captain Sachin Tendulkar
Senior Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar was today conferred with the Indian Air Force's honorary rank of Group Captain to honour his cricketing achievements and contributions to the nation. Tendulkar is the first sportsperson to be conferred a rank by IAF and the first personality with no aviation background to receive the honour. Accepting the Air Force honour, Sachin said he would like to fly a Sukhoi soon. He also said as a teen, he liked Tom Cruise's character in Top Gun.
