Comparing RSS to SIMI is like comparing General Dyer to Bhagat Singh: BJP

Attacking Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, the Himachal Pradesh BJP today said his comparison of RSS with SIMI was like drawing a parallel between Jallianwala Bagh villain General Reginald Dyer and revolutionary Bhagat Singh.
"Rahul Gandhi has said that both RSS and SIMI are fundamentalist organisations and alike and going by the same logic he can conveniently say that both Gen Dyer (who ordered troops to fire at an unarmed crowd in Jallianwala Bagh) and Bhagat Singh were same as they believed in violence," party spokesperson Ganesh Dutt said.
Accusing Gandhi of sympathising with SIMI, Dutt claimed that he "deliberately" made this statement under pressure from "fundamentalist Muslims" for getting the ban on SIMI revoked.
By making such an "irresponsible and immature statement", Rahul had not only "insulted" the RSS and other like-minded people but all the nationalists and patriots, he said.
He asked Rahul to publicly apologise to RSS and chided the Congress for projecting an "immature and inexperienced" person as its future lead
