The Blasphemous Ballad
As if the barrage of corruption coming out of UPA-II’s Pandora Box taking India to its highest ever corruption index is not well enough, here is the mother of all crass political opportunism coming out from the reigning General Secretary of Congress Mr. Digvijay Singh. In the words of Diggi Raja the slain Maharashtra ATS Chief Hemant Karkare was killed by Hindu elements and not by Azmal Kasab & Company during 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai. This statement is a blatant attack on India’s integrity & diversity and its fight against terrorism. Mr. Singh is just a front face of this “Communal Brigade” who was matched perfectly with the same frequency of voice by Mr. A.R.Antulay, the erstwhile Minorities Affairs Minister, who had claimed in his own words way back in 2008 that "Superficially speaking they (terrorists) had no reason to kill Karkare. Whether he (Karkare) was a victim of terrorism or terrorism plus something I do not know. Unfortunately his end came. It may be a separate inquiry how his end came... There is more than what meets the eyes.” So it’s but obvious that Mr. Singh is just shrilling the volume of a chorus to divert the whole issue from corruption to communal sensationalism, which looks unfortunately as the “Bhasmasur Act” to destabilize our beloved country. But what we need is to zero-in on its roots instead of leapfrogging on branches.
Let us contemplate this in the garb of consequences. As per Mr. Singh’s revelation, just 2-3 hours before his martyrdom in 26/11 terrorist shoot-out operation, Mr. Karkare called Mr. Singh saying that his life was under threat from Hindu elements due to Malegaon Blast investigations. This statement in itself making it blatantly clear that why Mr. Karkare will call Mr. Singh saying this just before the operation against terrorist shoot-out. As if informing Mr. Singh was the most important thing for him before entering into the shootout operation. However thanks to the widow of slain Karkare, Mrs. Kavita Karkare, who rebutted this vociferously and took head on the significance of this blasphemous ballad by Mr. Singh immediately and rubbished unequivocally before the media. Talking to reporters in Mumbai, Kavita Karkare accused Singh of playing Vote Bank politics and denied that any conversation had taken place between her husband and the Congress leader, as claimed by the latter.
Insulting Martyrs and Misleading India: The Evergreen Political Fad
What signifies this misadventure of Mr. Singh, directly or indirectly, is very important to understand for we, the people of India. In the direct consequence, it’s falsifying the fact that Mr. Karkare was killed by Pak terrorists Azmal Kasab & Company during 26/11 Mumbai attack. It implies clean chit to Kasab for killing Mr. Karkare. Directly making a mockery of our martyrs who are eveready to sacrifice themselves for us. Directly discouraging our heroes by belittling their heroics and hence discouraging our youths and future of this country to take up SECURITY/DEFENSE as career. Indirectly it is strengthening terrorists by granting such encouragement from the top political line of India. If rulers will speak this language, then only God knows where this country is heading to. It has become a regular fashion among our politicians to rub the salt on the wounds of martyrs’ families. “Batla House Encounter” case was the same mockery when Mr. Digvijay Singh called it fake and communal and paid a goodwill sympathetic visit to the family of suspected Indian Mujahedeen terrorists Dr. Shahnawaz and Mohammed Saif in Azamgarh. It was the naked pursuit of Vote Bank politics.

Wikileaks has also released its cables this week on US diplomat’s report to his country in the aftermath of Mumbai terror attacks of November 2008. The cable which contained a candid and sharply critical review of the Congress politics following the Mumbai attacks, was authored by the U.S. embassy on December 23, 2008 and sent to the Secretary of State in Washington. Overall, the U.S. diplomats said, while cooler heads eventually prevailed within the Congress leadership, it chose to pander to Muslims' fears and the episode demonstrated that the party would readily stoop to the old caste (and) religious-based politics. It reflected a cynical political calculation by the party which proved once again that many party leaders were “still wedded to the old identity politics.”
In the wake of this Wikileaks cable release we can understand what we are getting from our polticos, just like what Mr. Singh’s new rhetorical revelation is delivering. Wikileaks might not be said the genuine evidential proof but what impressions we are receiving from time to time is directing towards this unsung fact only, what Wikileaks is revealing.
Divide & Rule: Old Wine in New Bottle
There is a deliberated effort to give colors to terrorism and our politicians are leaving no stone unturned to transform the sacred saffron into a forced terrorist color. So by disseminating this mendacious impression, Mr. Singh is misleading the people of India far from the reality and creating a great gap between its people based on religion. I’ve Muslim friends too. They are as patriotic for India as any Hindu can be. But these crass political opportunism in the garb of false appeasement are mainly to keep them in confused state so that they cannot move ahead in mainstream by remaining in the quagmire of misperceived hatred. Those who understand keep themselves away, but the level of mistrust these politicians create between them is never back to normal again. Consequently, playing as Vote Bank Puppet into their hands. So it’s back to square one, embracing what Britishers did for 200 years in India. Divide & Rule. Only the circumstances are changed.

The country is being raped continuously through never-ending corruptions. Foreign agents are getting their stranglehold tight on our national sovereignty and integrity. Terrorism is outclassing our political leadership. Internal security is at its all time low with Naxalism daring to topple the Govt. of India in next 25 yrs. A certain segment of the Fourth Pillar of Indian democracy is busy in negotiating power equations with ruling party. Every now and then China is giving us the true feeling of being their neighbor. Our ministers change their stand individually on world forums. The whole world is laughing at so called “Superpower India” by observing its never-stopping idiocy. Wikileaks is evidence for all this. And We, the People of India are still silent over these misdeeds of our politicians. The time has come to call upon another Freedom Movement in India, wherein our unity will be a slap on the face of those who are ruining the quintessence of being Indian. The time has come to silent these Blasphemous Ballads forever. Let us not forget this ever and bring it on into our action, whenever and wherever we get our chance to participate and save our motherland.
